Salen Bay Campsite sits on a raised tier above the bay in Salen, roughly in the middle of Mull. Every pitch looks over the Sound of Mull and the hills behind. There are 40 pitches in all: hardstanding with water, grass for tents and small vans under 5.5m, tent-only grass, and one astroturf tent pitch. Electric hook-up is optional on many.
Washing facilities are three Portakabin blocks round a courtyard, plus a washroom and a bothy with charging points, a freezer and a coin-operated washer and dryer. A small shop sells camping gear and local crafts but not groceries; the village Spar and cafe are a short walk away (about 800m). Two paths lead from the site to the shoreline, and kayaks and paddleboards can be hired on site.
Dogs are welcome free of charge on leads, and small raised fires and BBQs are allowed on the block bases provided. A wood-fired pizza trailer and a mobile sauna visit from time to time.
