Marshford Camping sits behind an organic food shop and plant nursery on the edge of Northam, in a sheltered spot a short distance from the sea. It is licensed by the Camping and Caravanning Club for members only, so the site is small: no more than five caravans, motorhomes or campervans and ten tents a night.

Pitches are grass, with one hardstanding pitch for a van, and electric hook-up can be added to any of them, tents included. There is a unisex toilet and shower block, a chemical disposal point and recycling bins, and the shop next door sells fresh produce and baked goods. Solo walkers and cyclists with their own tent have a cheaper pitch type.

Dogs are welcome on a lead. Westward Ho! beach and the estuary walk on the South West Coast Path are close, and dogs can run off the lead on the northern end of the beach from May to November.
