Kendal Club Campsite sits beside the River Kent in woodland that belongs to the National Trust, on the site of a 19th-century gunpowder mill. It is touring only: 138 hardstanding pitches with hook-up, for outfits up to 8m.

The river is used by anglers (a national rod licence is needed), and local walks and cycle routes go out through Sedgwick, Levens and Natland. Kendal itself is about 5 miles away with the big supermarkets, and Windermere is around 13 miles. It also suits a night on the way north to Scotland.

The Club asks towing vehicles not to follow sat nav for the final approach.
