Campfires

A working hill farm on the edge of Pennal at the southern tip of Snowdonia, with a five-acre camping field on several levels and views over the Dyfi Valley. The Jones family run it and speak Welsh and English; you book in at the farmhouse.

Non-electric grass pitches are not marked out, so you choose your own spot and park by your tent. Electric pitches sit near the shower block, on grass or hardstanding, with the hardstanding ones kept for big motorhomes and tourers up to 7.5m.

Campfires are allowed in raised fire baskets, with logs and gas sold at reception. The block has showers, a family bathroom, an accessible room, a fridge and freezer cabin and coin-operated laundry. The pub in Pennal is a short walk.
