Camusdarach is a small estate between Arisaig and Mallaig on the west Highland coast. The 30 pitches are split between a top field with views across the sea to Eigg, Rum and Skye and a facilities field looking to the hills. Hardstanding pitches with hook-up take motorhomes, campervans and caravans, while tents go on grass mats, with or without electric.
Three glamping pods sleep four each, and two apartments in the old farmhouse are let by the week. Paths lead through the dunes to three sandy beaches, which are easy launch points for sea kayaks and paddleboards. Reception sells basics and runs a coffee and croissant takeaway.
Rules are fairly relaxed on fires: they are allowed on the beach below the high-water line, and on site in a raised fire pit. Dogs are welcome but stay out of the shower block.
