Bowness on Windermere Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Refurbished all-year Club site beside Lake Windermere, a walk from Bowness with a bus stop at the gate.

See all 1 photos
  • Dogs welcome

This Club site on Glebe Road, formerly called Braithwaite Fold, sits by the shore of Windermere and is an easy walk from Bowness-on-Windermere's pubs, restaurants and boat hire. It had a big refurbishment in 2022 and stays open all year.

Pitches are grass or hardstanding with electric, plus super service pitches with water and drainage. There is a family shower room, dedicated accessible facilities, laundry, dishwashing, a dog wash, a shop and a motorhome service point. Limits to know about: one car per pitch, no boats on trailers, rock pegs are needed on the service pitches (all hardstanding), and TV reception is poor. The World of Beatrix Potter is under a mile away and the chain ferry at Bowness Nab takes you across to Claife Heights.
