Ardtower opened in 2016 on the Culloden Road, about two and a half miles before the battlefield and a short bus ride from Inverness. Nearly all the pitches face out across the Beauly Firth to the Black Isle, and almost all are level hardstanding with 16 amp hook-up. Super pitches add their own water tap and grey-water drain, while tents go on a separate grass area where the pitch is chosen for you by the size of your tent and how long you are staying.

The service block is new and heated, with family and baby facilities, a laundry and a motorhome waste point that copes with larger rigs. You can pay extra to have a private wet room to yourself, hire the BBQ hut for an evening, or buy a pizza from the site's evening pizza hut. A handful of two-person pods and wee hooses, each with their own bathroom and deck, were added more recently. Fires and fire pits are not allowed, and open barbecues have to be raised off the grass.
