Aldridge Mill is a former corn mill in a sheltered valley between Oakford and Stoodleigh, reached by narrow lanes off the A361. The owners run a small music-and-solar business and treat the 41 acres as a place to camp properly rough: you park at the field entrance and carry kit down, with a hand cart provided.

Wild campers get a field bordered by a stream and old broadleaf woodland, a compost loo, a central fire pit and a private adventure playground. Only a few spots are offered at a time. Two off-grid stays are also on the site: a six-metre Mongolian yurt that sleeps four and a restored bow-top wagon for two.

  • Streamside field with stony beaches for wild washing
  • Central fire pit and seasoned logs for sale
  • Off-grid yurt with wood burner
  • Restored bow-top wagon for two
  • Bampton and two village pubs within a few miles
