Whitesands Camping sits on a gently sloping field on a working farm, a minute from Whitesands Beach and the coast path, two miles from St Davids. Campers have used the field for over a century. There is no booking system at all: you drive in, choose a pitch, park beside your tent and check in at the office when it is next open.
The main field takes tents, trailer tents, campervans and motorhomes under 7m; there are hook-ups on first-come basis, and no caravans or A-class motorhomes. A separate tent field opens from Whitsun to the end of the August bank holiday. A shower block opened in 2020 with token showers, an outside wash-down shower, six toilets including a family/accessible one, a sink for washing up and a cassette waste point. Pricing is per person, with no peak-season uplift. Dogs are accepted on site but not in the shower block, and there is a seasonal dog ban on the main beach (1 May to 30 September).
