West Hook Farm is a working farm at the tip of the Marloes Peninsula in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, run by Robert and Karre Thomas. Three grass fields run down towards St Brides Bay, and from the upper field the sun sets straight into the sea. There is almost no light pollution, so the stars are good.

It is deliberately basic: grass pitches only, no electric hook-ups and no static caravans, taking tents, campervans, motorhomes and touring caravans (four-night minimum for caravans). The facilities are 8 toilets, 3 coin-operated showers, 4 washing-up sinks and a chemical disposal point. Campers can charge batteries for £1, use the freezers for ice packs for free, and shelter in the barn when the weather turns. Calor Gas, Camping Gaz, logs and firelighters are on sale.

The coast path leads from the gate to Martin's Haven, the departure point for boats to Skomer Island, in about 500m. Marloes Sands is a mile away and Dale is four miles. Bookings are by phone only, and the site does not take large groups or stag and hen parties.
