Westland is a family-run farm half a mile from Blackmoor Gate, just inside the edge of Exmoor. Summer camping is in an open field with no marked pitches, so you pick your spot and spread out. Everyone is charged per person, which means big tents, pup tents and gazebos cost nothing extra. Campfires are welcome, and children can help feed the animals in the morning and collect eggs from the hens.

The shower block is heated all year and has individual bathrooms, plus a washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer and drying wall. For something drier there is a six-person cabin with a wood-fired hot tub and sauna, and two homemade huts, each with a hot tub, that are also taken by dog owners. Up at the top of the farm, five hardstanding pitches with hookup are reserved for Caravan and Motorhome Club members.
