South Dean sits on the Exmoor edge of North Devon, above the Bristol Channel, near Trentishoe and Parracombe. Pitches are unmarked across about 18 acres, so you choose your own spot for a tent or a campervan, and the coast path runs a few metres below the field.

There is no electric hook-up: it is a non-electric site for tents, vans and motorhomes, plus a cheaper backpacker pitch for walkers without a car. Facilities are simple, with flushing toilets and hot showers, and visiting food traders turn up on set days through the season, with a few alpacas and sheep to meet.
