Swallowtails sits on the edge of Pickering, a short walk from the town and the North York Moors steam railway. It has four insulated 18ft yurts, each with its own toilet and shower, king bed plus singles, a wood burner and self-catering kit, and ten camp pitches on level gravel and grass.

Every camp pitch now has electric hook-up and its own water tap, with shared grey water and Elsan points. Campers share a stable-block toilet and shower, a kitchen with fridge freezer and microwaves, a games room and a big play area. There is a communal fire in the middle of the site as well as raised firepits, and a wood-fired hot tub that can be booked for your stay. Quiet time runs 11pm to 7am and the owners are firm about it.
