Sandhaven is a family-run holiday park beside Sandhaven Beach in South Shields, with the promenade, Ocean Beach Pleasure Park and the pubs and restaurants of Ocean Road all within a short walk. It takes caravans and motorhomes on concrete pads with gravel awning bays and electric hook-up; tents are not allowed.
The shower and toilet block has been refurbished and there are accessible facilities, a laundry, dishwashing sinks and a chemical disposal point. Static holiday homes can also be hired by the 3 or 7 nights, and one of them is set aside for people bringing dogs.
The park is run by Northumbrian Leisure, which also has sites at Cresswell, Seahouses, Warkworth and Bamburgh. Touring season runs from mid February to the end of November. The rules are strict: no under 21s and no single-sex groups.
