Durham Grange is a Caravan and Motorhome Club touring site of 78 pitches on open, level ground by the A1(M). Non-members can book. It is a handy base for Durham city, three miles away, with its cathedral and castle.
A public footpath leaves from near the site across fields to a river and woodland, and there is a dog walk on site. The playground keeps younger children busy, and you can cycle into Durham itself. National Cycle Network routes 14 and 70 both pass nearby, and a bus stop within a mile runs to Durham and Sunderland.
Leave the A1(M) at junction 62 onto the A690 towards Durham and turn right into Meadow Lane at the International Caravan Site sign. Open late March to early November.
