Oakwood opened in 2018 on the edge of Aviemore, in oak woodland with the Cairngorms behind. Touring units sit on 16-amp hookup pitches, with a hardstanding or grass-over-hard surface. Tents have two small areas: seven electric grass pitches and non-electric spots under the oaks where the ground is hard, so bring rock pegs. The site is about 300 metres up, so expect cold weather and some areas may close in winter.

The toilet and shower block is heated, and there is a laundry, a dishwashing area, a service point and a play area. A food van runs by reception. Aviemore is about a 30 minute walk along the orbital path. Five glamping pods and a four-bedroom cottage are rented through Cottages.com. Open fires and charcoal barbecues are banned because it is inside the National Park.
