Glenmore Campsite

Big forest campsite in the Cairngorms with sandy pitches among Caledonian pines and a short walk to the beach at Loch Morlich.

  • Dogs welcome
  • Near beach

Glenmore sits at about 300m in Glenmore Forest Park, a few minutes' walk through the trees from the sandy shore of Loch Morlich and a short drive from Aviemore. Its 206 pitches are laid out among pines, some in the forest and some on an open tent field with mountain views, all on sandy ground.

Tents, trailer tents, rooftop tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes are all taken. The standard pitch is 8m by 5m including guy ropes and covers two people and a car; only hardstanding pitches have electric hook-up. There is a washing-up area, laundry, chemical disposal, battery charging and accessible facilities, but no wifi.

It is cold up here and part of the site closes in winter, so availability is tighter then. The gate is locked from 10pm to 7am with no vehicle movement. Fires and charcoal or disposable barbecues are banned because of the forest; gas barbecues are fine.
