Lower Wensleydale is a Caravan and Motorhome Club site in the hollow of a former quarry, now grown over with wild flowers, mosses and mature trees. It has 88 touring pitches, all on hardstanding, and three tent pitches. The Club manages it for the landowners. Non-members can book, and it has Green Tourism Gold.
Ducks and rabbits wander the site, and the local steam trains run past. Leyburn, with its Friday market, is about 1.5 miles away, and a pub and shop are within a mile. The Yorkshire Dales are close for walking and cycling, and there is a dog walk on site, laundry and Wi-Fi. Storage and seasonal pitches are also offered.
Use the Club's directions for the final approach, not sat nav: the approach road is narrow with steep blind bends. Open late March to early November.
