The caravan site sits inside a walled paddock on the Jervaulx Estate, about 2.5 acres of orchard with mature trees, a short walk from the abbey ruins and some 400 yards from the River Ure. Hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up are there for vans of any size in any weather, and there is a rally field with room for 28 vans, electric or not.
Facilities are simple: a toilet block with hot and cold water, 10 amp hook-ups and a dog walk on the estate. Electric is metered, bought as a £5, £10 or £20 credit when you book, with unused credit refunded after you leave. A riverside path leads about a mile to the Cover Bridge Inn, and the market towns of Masham and Leyburn are each around six miles away. The Burdon family also let three luxury huts in the old garden, each with a king bed, kitchen and a private patio with fire bowl or bath.
