Hennock Hideaways is a grass field on a family smallholding at the edge of Dartmoor, looking down the Teign Valley. There are no marked pitches and no hook-ups: you book a space, pick your own spot when you arrive and park next to your tent. Tents and small campervans up to 7 metres are fine; caravans and large motorhomes are not allowed. The price is per person rather than per pitch, so a solo walker pays far less than a family of six.

Facilities are simple and a bit of a hike down the hill: two family shower rooms with their own toilets, two more toilets, drinking-water taps around the field, a washing-up shed and a 24-hour honesty shop with a fridge, a freezer for ice packs and logs. There are play areas for small and bigger children, and the Palk Arms is a short walk down the lane. Two bell tents sit in their own sloping field with a kitchen area, electricity, a woodburner and a fire pit. Camping is closed for 2026 and reopens on 30 April 2027.
