Hunters Lodge is a quiet, over-18s-only site on the edge of Starcross, between Exeter and Dawlish. It has ten acres of its own ground, a lake where a kingfisher turns up, and owls at night.

Every pitch has a 16A hook-up included in the price. Caravans and motorhomes go on hardstanding; tents, trailer tents and campervans up to 5.5m take the standard pitches. There is a shower for £1, a laundry room with an ice-pack freezer, and a chemical disposal point.

The bus stop is five minutes' walk, Starcross station and the Exmouth ferry fifteen, and the Exe Estuary cycle trail passes through the village. Dawlish Warren beach is a flat 40-minute walk.
