Hawkchurch used to be a tent and touring park called Hunter's Moon. It was rebuilt in 2015 as a Darwin Escapes resort of privately spaced lodges and one-bedroom holiday homes among woodland, a short drive from Axminster and the Jurassic Coast at Charmouth and Lyme Regis.

Stays here are self-catering lodges and holiday homes, some with hot tubs, and dogs are accepted. On site there is a bistro and bar, a spa with treatments, a hydrotherapy pool with steam room and sauna (over-16s only) and an air-conditioned gym that is also open to the public. Nothing on the resort's holiday pages offers tent, caravan or motorhome pitches, so it is not somewhere to turn up with your own unit.
