- Glamping
The Grange Trekking Centre has been taking riders out into the Black Mountains since 1957, and is in the hamlet of Capel-y-ffin in the Vale of Ewyas, inside the Brecon Beacons National Park. Most guests come to ride, but you can also stay to walk, cycle or just look at the view, and there is no TV or phone signal.
Two basic glamping units are open all year: a shepherd's hut with a woodburner, a double and a single bed, and a pod with a king-size bed and an electric heater. Bedding is included, there is a compost loo and campfire at each, and the toilet and shower block at reception is two minutes away. Tent camping is listed for groups such as scouts, guides and Duke of Edinburgh parties, who get their own field, and a Victorian farmhouse B&B runs from spring to early November.
