Crossghyll Farm Camping Pods

Crossghyll is a working dairy and sheep farm in the quiet Littledale valley east of Lancaster, run by two brothers and their families. Six wooden camping pods sit among trees with the Bowland fells above, and each is named after a tree: Ash, Beech, Birch and Chestnut are the four larger pods, with Oak and Sycamore the smaller two.

The pods are sparse inside: heating, lights, electric and USB sockets and curtains, so you bring your own bedding and camping kit. That keeps them usable in any weather. A separate utility block has underfloor heating, hot showers and toilets, there is a part-covered washing-up area, and a fire pit and barbecue are shared. Parking is off-road and gated.

The farm is near Caton, Lancaster and Morecambe, and the Way of the Roses and Lune Valley are close for cyclists. If you would rather bring a tent, up to three family tents are taken by prior arrangement, at £25 a night each. Prices for the pods are only shown in the booking calendar, so check dates on the site or ring.
