Welsummer Camping

Small, car-free Kent campsite on a hill with woodland and meadow tent pitches, bell tents and off-grid cabins, all with their own fire bowls.

  • Dogs welcome
  • Campfires
  • Glamping

Welsummer is a family-run site in the Kent countryside near Lenham, tucked into woods and meadows on top of a hill. Tent campers choose between three acres of woodland with room for only four or five small tents, a small meadow, or a large family meadow, and every pitch has its own fire. Cars are left at the parking field.

If you would rather not pitch a tent there are fitted bell tents with beds and a kitchen cupboard of cooking gear, and five off-grid wooden cabins, the Ivy, Hive, Whisky Library, Wendy's House and Alice's Palace, most with wood burners. The cabins stay open all year. Hot water comes from solar panels topped up by a wood stove, and there is a small shop at reception selling eggs, coffee and firewood.
