Tanpits is a family cider farm on Dyers Lane in Bathpool, where tents, caravans and motorhomes camp in a pair of apple orchards. It is a handy overnight stop 1.5 miles from M5 junction 25, but also close enough to Taunton to walk in along the canal, about 40 minutes.

Facilities are basic and honest: a toilet and shower block, token-operated washing machine and dryer, washing-up area, a play area and a farm shop selling cider. Peacocks, ducks, geese, guinea fowl and chickens wander the site, which the owners flag as worth knowing if birds are not your thing. They also rent out three holiday statics and take rallies.
