Slieve Croob Camping sits on a family farm at the foot of Slieve Croob in County Down, looking across to the Mourne Mountains. Tents, caravans and motorhomes all pay the same flat rate per night, and extra cars are a few pounds more.
There are shower and toilet facilities, washing-up sinks, fresh water points, water refill for vans and both black and grey waste disposal, plus picnic tables and campfires. Logs from the family farm are on sale.
The Slieve Croob mountain path and the scenic loop are walkable, and Castlewellan Forest Park, Tollymore, Silent Valley and Newcastle beach are within easy reach. Bookings are by phone or email.
There is also a handmade shepherd's hut called Croob View, with a wood-fired hot tub, higher up the farm.
