Chestnutt is the original park of a small family group on the Co. Down coast, where Carlingford Lough meets the Irish Sea and the Mourne Mountains fill the skyline. It is a two-minute walk to the long south-facing sands of Cranfield West. You can pitch a tent or tourer, hire one of about eight static caravans, or rent Cranfield Sands Cottage, a two-bedroom seafront house nearby.
Camping and touring pitches are open and spacious, with 16 amp hook-ups, a washing-up area, toilets and token-operated showers at £1 a go. There is a playpark, multi-sport court, laundry, EV charging and a seasonal shop and cafe, though both were already closed for the winter at the time of checking. The park runs March to October and the gate is shut between 11:30pm and 7am. Dogs are welcome on a lead and the group's sister parks at Sandilands and Annalong take tourers too.
