Rushbanks is a family-run field campsite on the River Stour, just outside Nayland on the Suffolk side of Dedham Vale. Pitches are big and grassy, for tents, caravans, campervans and roof tents. There is no electric hook-up and no Wi-Fi, so bring a power bank. Hot showers and toilets are set up for the season, along with tap water, washing-up sinks and a play area with swings.
Guests can hire canoes, two-person kayaks and paddleboards and paddle downstream to the Anchor Inn at Nayland, which takes about 90 minutes. Two 5m bell tents stand on the riverbank for anyone who wants to skip the tent pitching. Campfires are usually part of the evening, with fire pits hired from the site, although fire bans can apply in dry spells.
Children under 18 stay free, dogs are welcome on leads, and the lead booker must be 21 or over. Pitches are not allocated in advance: you drive round and pick a spot on arrival.
- Launch canoes and paddleboards from the site

- Riverside bell tents
- Children under 18 camp free
