Alton Water Campsite is a level grass field inside the 400-acre reservoir park at Stutton, near Ipswich. It has 80 hedged pitches, all with the option of electric hook-up, and three furnished six-metre bell tents for four people.
The Suffolk-barn style facilities block has male and female sections, each with five showers, and a covered washing-up area with a waste point behind it. The park's tea room, children's play area with sandpit, watersports centre and cycle hire are all a short walk away, and there are more than eight miles of paths around the water for walking and cycling.
The campsite is run by Anglian Water Parks, which also runs sites at Rutland Water, Grafham and Pitsford. Open fires and fire pits are not allowed. Dogs can stay on the pitches but not in the bell tents.
