The camping is in a screened area at the top of the Castle Inn's garden in Ramsey, a village on the edge of Harwich and Dovercourt. It is about two miles from the international ferry terminal, so it works well for an early boat, and the blue flag beach at Dovercourt is roughly a mile and a half away.
Tents pay per tent, and campervans under 6m can use a small dedicated area in the pub car park, with an electric hook-up as an add-on. There is no room for caravans or trailer tents, and space is limited, so book ahead. Toilets and showers are included in the price. The pub serves real ale and food most days (closed Mondays, and no food on Tuesdays). Dogs are welcome in the bar and garden. If you arrive on a Monday when the pub is shut, phone and someone will check you in.
