Pondside is a three-acre grass field on a working croft at Tirryside, just outside Lairg, looking across Loch Shin. It is run by a family who have been taking campers since 2015, and they cap the field at ten parties a night so it never feels crowded. You pick your own spot when you arrive.
There is a toilet, shower and washing-up block, a covered outdoor eating and cooking area, and a games room with a pool table, darts and board games. Five electric hook-ups are available, as are fridge and freezer use, a washing service, a trampoline-and-football area and a fire bowl seating area. The croft runs down to the River Tirry, where guests can fish if the water level allows.
Vehicles are limited to 5.5m on the pitches, and campervans to 6m. Next to the field there is a one-bedroom self-contained flat sleeping two.
