Broomfield has been run by the same local family for around 60 years. It covers 12 acres of level grass on the edge of Ullapool, looking over Loch Broom to the Summer Isles, with the Stornoway ferry passing in front. The village front, with its shops, pubs and restaurants, is a two-minute walk, which makes it a handy stop on the NC500 or before the Hebrides ferry.
Tents, motorhomes and caravans all pitch on grass and electric hook-up is available for caravans and motorhomes but not for tents. Several facility blocks have free showers, washbasins, dryers and laundry, and there are standpipes, chemical disposal and a dish-washing area. A play area keeps children busy. Dogs are welcome on a lead, children under 16 stay free and solo travellers get a discount. Payment is on arrival. Three two-bedroom holiday homes are also let through a separate site.
