Altnaharra sits between the road and the shore of Loch Naver, looking straight at Ben Klibreck, in the far north of the Highlands. The nearest shops are about 20 miles away, so this is a place to stock up first and then switch off. Anglers can fly fish from the shore and the site has non-motorised boating rights on the loch under conditions.
It takes caravans and motorhomes only (there is no tent camping) and has 24 touring pitches with electric hook-up and wifi. There is no toilet block and the water is a private supply, so the Club advises boiling any water from site and not filling vehicle tanks here. Non-members can book. If you arrive from the north on the B873, park outside the gate and book in at the office.
