Loch Chon is a basic campsite run by the national park authority, tucked into forest on the minor B829 between Kinlochard and Inversnaid. There are 26 tent pitches, a mix of open ground and woodland, each with one parking space, and paths link them with some steps and carries of up to 150 metres from the car park. Four pitches have raised wooden platforms where tents are secured with chains and hooks, and two are accessible.
There are toilets, drinking water and a shared washing-up area, but no showers, no bins (take everything home) and no phone reception. Each pitch has a fire bowl, with firewood bookable in advance. Campervans and motorhomes are not allowed, dogs are welcome, and midges can be fierce in summer.
