High Fell Gate Caravan Park

Small, old-fashioned farm site between Cartmel and Grange-over-Sands with hard-standing touring pitches, a big grass tent field and a basic shower block.

  • Dogs welcome

High Fell Gate sits on the edge of a working farm in open country between Cartmel and Grange-over-Sands. Caravans have been parked here since the 1940s, and it still feels like a quiet farm site rather than a leisure park: a few owners' statics, some hard standings for tourers and motorhomes, and a large flat grass area for tents.

Facilities are simple. There is a shower and toilet block for visitors and a washing-up area with hot water, but nothing for children, so it suits couples and families who bring their own entertainment. Dogs are welcome on a lead.

Cartmel with its pubs and restaurants is within walking distance according to the site, Holker Hall is a little over a mile away, and Grange-over-Sands, Kendal and the southern lakes are a short drive. The site closes in winter (shut from 3 November 2025, reopening 1 March 2026).
