Giant's Head is a three-and-a-half-acre park on the hill above Cerne Abbas, run by the Dorset AONB-linked operator. There are about 50 grass pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, level to gently sloping, some in shade and some open with views, laid out on terraces off a hard road. A separate area is set aside for campers with dogs.
It is a plain, tidy site: hot showers, washing-up and laundry facilities, hook-ups on some pitches and no shop. Cerne Abbas, a little over a mile away, has a well-stocked village store, a tea room and pubs, and the chalk giant is just up the hill. Walks start from the gate, including the Wessex Ridgeway, and the park hands out Treasure Trails packs. Dorchester is about eight miles away and the coast is a drive.
