Whitlingham Broad Campsite sits inside an 80-acre stretch of the country park at Trowse, just outside Norwich and within the Broads National Park. Tents and small campervans go on two grassy meadows. The upper one is car free, with a short walk from the car park and trolleys to carry your kit; on the lower one you can park beside your tent. There are no electric pitches and no caravans.

If you would rather not pitch your own, there are bell tents, a yurt, a shepherd's hut, converted railway goods waggons, mezzanine family cabins and two stilted woodland dens with their own balconies and fire pits. Most have a wood burner and a fire pit or BBQ.

The washrooms include private family rooms, there is a small shop for basics and phone charging, and a play area. Canoe and kayak hire and woodland walks are a few minutes away, and National Cycle Route 1 runs into Norwich. It is a quiet site: no amplified music or generators, and no day visitors.

  • Fifteen minutes by bike from Norwich city centre
  • Walk to Whitlingham Broad for canoes and kayaks
  • Car-free upper meadow with views over the Broad
  • Bell tents, yurt, shepherd's hut, cabins and treehouse-style dens
