Whitemead sits in woodland at Parkend in the Forest of Dean. It mixes tent and touring pitches with glamping pods, log cabins, woodland lodges and apartments, so a group can split across very different kinds of stay.

Pitch guests get the same free run of the leisure club as everyone else: heated indoor pool, toddler pool, sauna, steam room and gym. There is also a bar, coffee shop, shop, adventure golf and a programme of evening entertainment.

Every pitch has a 16 amp hook-up and electricity is included in the price, but wood fires and fire pits are banned. Lydney and Coleford are about five miles away for bigger shops.
