Troytown is the most south-westerly campsite in Britain, on the island of St Agnes. The field runs down to its own small sandy beach, with open Atlantic views, the Western Rocks and Bishop Rock lighthouse in sight. There are no cars or caravans on the island, so it is tents only. Your gear comes up from the quay by tractor and trailer for a small fee while you walk.

Pitches are not marked and not bookable individually: you choose a spot on arrival, first come first served. There is no electric hook-up, but a lockable charging room, token showers, a washing-up room, washing machine and a little farm shop selling ice cream, milk, butter, meat and camping fuel. The island's pub, cafe and general shop are a short walk. Pre-erected bell tents are also rented by the week, and the same family lets three self-catering cottages. Booking opens each October for the following year, and school holiday dates fill fast.
