Stowford Manor Farm is a working farm in the Frome valley near Wingfield, with the river along one side of the camping fields and the farm's medieval buildings alongside. You can fish, paddle or swim in the river, and campers get half-price membership of the Farleigh and District swimming club a short walk downstream. Bradford-on-Avon is five minutes by car, Bath fifteen and Longleat twenty.

Pitching is on grass in three fields (the main site, the cricket ground and Tagglemead), and there are no marked pitches, so you camp where you like within reason. Tents, tourers and motorhomes are all taken, with electric hook-ups to add and a waste disposal point. There are toilets, showers at 50p and sinks with free hot water. Fires and barbecues are fine off the ground, and the farm hires out fire bowls and sells logs, cider and breakfast and barbecue boxes. Cream teas run from Easter to September and pizzas on summer weekend evenings. Two converted railway carriages on the main site are bookable too.
