- Glamping
Red Shoot is a flat, hedged camping park on the edge of the New Forest near Linwood, with mature oaks dotted between the pitches. There are over 95 pitches, more than 70 per cent with 10-amp electric hook-up, in a mix of sheltered edge spots and open sun-trap positions. Around 25 are hard-standings for caravans and motorhomes, and oversize pitches exist for tents bigger than 7m by 4m. Families and couples only: it does not take stag or hen parties.
The park changed hands in 2025 and has since added a children's play park with a zip wire and bird's-nest swing, with an outdoor gym promised for 2026. The washrooms have underfloor heating, family and accessible bathrooms, and there is a shop with a bakery, a laundry room and EV charging. The Red Shoot Inn next door is a separate business that gives campers a food discount, though its kitchen was closed after a fire. For something roofed there are two shepherd's huts, a two-bedroom converted barn called The Byre, and a touring caravan, The Croft, to hire. Mobile and TV reception is poor, and wifi is sold by the day.
