Red Deer Village (formerly Craigendmuir) is a gated park in Stepps, around five miles north-east of Glasgow, close to the A80 and a short way from the village's train station. It is a handy base for Glasgow, Stirling, Edinburgh and Loch Lomond, and a practical overnight stop on the way north.
Touring caravans and motorhomes use about 27 hardstanding pitches, all with electric hook-up, and tents go on a separate grass field with barbecue areas and picnic benches. Two shower blocks, a family room, a launderette and free wifi serve the site, and a gate with intercom and CCTV keeps it secure. Chalets and static caravans sleeping up to six can be hired by the night, and many guests are contractors staying longer.
