Nether Oaks is an eleven-acre oak wood on Oak Farm at Parham, reached by a half-mile track from the road. Its speciality is grassy glades that take up to four families, each with a water tap, a raised fire bowl and a free bundle of firewood, so friends can camp together without being on top of each other. A few individual pitches sit along a woodland avenue.

There is no power in the wood. Two hand-built timber huts under the trees hold composting toilets, basins and a gas-heated shower, and the social heart of the site has a dragon pizza oven, barbecue, long supper table and bigger shared fire bowls. Vehicles stay out of the wood, with trolleys to move your gear. Six acres are open for den-building and exploring; the rest is kept for wildlife. It is a Greener Camping Club site, and membership is added to your booking.

Charged per person per night: adults 16 and over, children 5 to 15, under 5s free. Every booking also includes membership of the Greener Camping Club (£12 a year, at least one person per pitch must be a member). Glades carry an extra nightly reservation charge of £8 to £32 depending on the glade. Site limit is 44 people and 10 pitches.

A few individual-family pitches on the grassy avenue beside the wild half of the wood. No vehicle access: trolleys provided from the track about 100m away. No fire bowl or firewood included; use the communal fire bowls and barbecue.
