See all 7 photos
  • Dogs welcome

Rendlesham Campsite is on Tangham Road inside Forestry England's Rendlesham Forest, run by Tangham Campsites Ltd. Pitches are 8m by 5m with a few 10m by 6m jumbo ones, and come as gravel hardstanding with electric, grass with electric or grass with no hook-up. Halts Hideaway is a separate woodland glade of up to ten non-electric pitches that suits groups, walkers on the Suffolk coastal path and cyclists.

There is a shower and toilet block with an accessible shower room and baby changing, covered washing-up sinks, a laundry you ask at reception to use, and a small shop selling ice cream, cold drinks and camping basics. There is no wifi and phone signal is patchy under the trees. The forest's play area and cafe are a couple of minutes' walk, and the site is known for dark skies and the 1980 UFO story. Dogs on leads are welcome, and the site is open from Easter to Christmas.
