The Island CL sits on the grounds of Friars Court near Clanfield, on a three-acre island with the Thames along one side and a backwater with boat moorings on the other. You cross an arched bridge to reach it, and the bridge limits vehicles to 4 tonnes and 8 metres. Up to five vans pitch on grass, every one beside the water.
It is a quiet, basic site: a drinking water tap, an Elsan disposal point and bins, but no electric hook-ups and no motorhome service point. Only Caravan and Motorhome Club members can book, and only with a caravan, motorhome, campervan or trailer tent. Tents are not accepted. Canoes and paddleboards can be put in from the bank, and coarse fishing from the bank is allowed from 16 June with a Radcot Angling Club licence.
