Cricket Bat Field is a three-acre grass field on the Friars Court estate, bordered on two sides by the Thames and lined with avenues of willows. It sits downriver from the farm's five-van Island CL. You can pitch right on the riverbank or tucked in between the trees, but specific pitches can't be reserved in advance.
It is deliberately basic: a drinking water tap and an Elsan disposal point, and no electric hook-ups or motorhome service point. Only Caravan and Motorhome Club members can book, and only in caravans, motorhomes, campervans or trailer tents. Individual tents aren't allowed, so tent campers are pointed to the Swan pub across the road at Radcot. Small boats, canoes and paddleboards can be launched from the bank, and there is coarse fishing from mid-June with a club permit bought on arrival. Organised rallies of up to 30 vans can be booked well ahead.
- Riverside pitches on the Thames or under willow avenues
- £15 a night with an awning included
- Launch a canoe or paddleboard from the bank
- Rally bookings for up to 30 vans
