Green Field is the camping area at Abbey Home Farm, an organic working farm on the Burford Road just outside Cirencester. There are no marked pitches: you pick a spot on arrival. One large field looks over the valley and is completely vehicle-free, so you leave the car in the car park next door and wheelbarrow your kit across. A second area between two hedges is for small campervans, trailer tents and anyone who wants the car beside the tent.

Facilities are deliberately basic: cold taps from the farm's own borehole, a cold-water washing-up area, compost long-drop loos and two wooden shower huts with hot gas-powered water. The farm shop and organic cafe are a short stroll through the wood, and there is a farm trail to walk. It is a leave-no-trace site, so plastic and general rubbish go home with you, and dogs are not allowed.
