Near beach

Hillend is a large, well-known surf campsite on the Gower peninsula, at the foot of Rhossili Down and a couple of hundred yards from the beach at Llangennith. Around 250 level or gently sloping grass pitches, roughly 11m square, are spread over four fields, and about 100 have electric hook-ups. Pitches are allocated on arrival, and all bookings are made online in advance; the Wales Coastal Path runs alongside.

It takes tents, trailer tents, campervans and motorhomes but not touring caravans, and it is firmly dog-free and music-free. Facilities include free hot showers (with six outdoor ones), a laundrette, a shop that sells gas and is an off-licence, a children's playground, a recreation field and Eddy's cafe-bar overlooking Rhossili Bay. Four self-catering lodges, Dunes, Peaks, Waves and Sands, sit among the caravan park and can be booked from March to November.
