Cannon Camping has been going since 1974 and takes its name from two 1830 cannons by the front gate, salvaged from the local Martello towers. It is a small grass touring and camping field just off the A259 east of Eastbourne, with the beach across the road and Sovereign Harbour about 15 to 20 minutes away on foot.

Pitches are marked out about 7m wide, with electric hook-up on some and none on others, and there are no hardstandings. The toilet and shower block has hot water but is not heated, and there is a washing-up area, chemical disposal, recycling and drinking water taps. A footpath at the bottom of the fields leads to Westham, Pevensey Castle and a dog-friendly pub. It is a family site: no groups of singles, stag or hen parties, and no open fires, though raised barbecues are fine.
